host family

Just spent two days in barcelona. The plane travel was very problematic, becuase the plane to new york was rerouted due to thunderstorms which made us an hour late and subsequently we missed our connecting flight in jfk and had to wait another eight hours in the terminal for the next one. in madrid we had to re-check our bags for our flight to barcelona. Our group was one of the first groups to arrive at the hotel guillermo. It was 3 people to a room. We went on a walking tour of the city and saw the architecture as our guide explained to us that there was a trend to bring nature into the city via the architecture. other than that we mostly had the time to ourselves so I got to know people from the group. Barcelona was a very big city, and most of the time I was lost, even finding a pair of walking shoes proved to be difficult task.

Today we left our hotel to board a private bus that took us to san sebastian, where we met our host family. They are really friendly and hospitable with a very spacious house. Right now í´m upstairs in the office next to the patio which overlooks the city. There is one man who lives with his girlfriend and he has three children aged, 16, 23, 21. They are very helpful because they talk slowly and clearly and I have been able to understand almost everything.

Tomorrow we will take a walking tour of the city. i need to go to sleep soon so i can wake up for that. (i only got 3or 4hrs last night)
